ScalpSquad

ScalpSquad aka Mokwa/Jaizen/Carnal Motive, is a veteran Midwest Dj and turntablist that has been into electronic music since the early 90's. Coming from the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin, music was his refuge. One day in high school, a friend told a friend, told a friend, and bam...he was introduced into the underground rave scene. Already having been into hip hop, it was only natural that he took to the sounds of jungle/dnb. With amazing Midwest heavyweights such as Danny the Wildchild, 3D, Madchild, Medicine Muffin, Snuggles & Slak, and many others as huge influences, it was a matter of time before he had his own way of presenting the music he loved. Being that the Midwest was an epic pool of amazing drum and bass Dj's and Promoters. if was only natural to be involved in the scene to get some exposure. Several parties later, and lots of time and money spent searching for records, he was hooked! Drum & Bass became his ultimate passion and hobby. Doing what every Dj does, he began getting little shows here and there around the Fox Valley. The amount of shows increased and he was getting recognition on a local level.  Playing for a dancefloor became an addiction. This was what solidified his love for the art of djing and the scene around it.  Over the course of all his dj antics, he was dabbling to become bedroom producer. Once he got comfortable,  he went on to pursue production just as hard as djing. He ended up putting out some releases, and found a style all his own. 

Fast forward to present time... 
ScalpSquad is the combination of all the years in the  electronic music community, all the genres and styles that have hit a spot in his soul, and of all the dj's that he has looked up to as teachers to lead him along the way.  It was all these elements in his musical background combined in one. Whether it is dubstep, drum and bass, trap, or hip hop. The ScalpSquad intention is to watch the floor, give em a ride, and put a little style and creativity into it. While always keeping up to date with the current music trends, and merging his personal favorites with the popular stuff together, he likes to keep the party rocking, and make them feel familiar. Now when it comes to his productions, he already has  several releases behind his back, and he is constantly in the studio working on new material and remixes. 
 

An Artist and A&R with Electronic Union Records, as well as running his own label, Warrior Drum Recordings, ScalpSquad is primed for the future, and getting ready to release a plethora of music upon the masses! The ScalpSquad project is sure to make some waves. Stay locked, cause this man is one to watch!
